RECONCAVO BASIN - RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION WORKS "STATE OF ART"
With PETROBRAS divestment program, the Brazilian oil industry, for the first time, had a real transformation in the number of players operating in the market.
This effective increase in the number of new companies, which operate mature oil fields, begins to move an entire chain of equipment and service suppliers, which aim to provide the best techniques and practices, helping these operators to achieve success in their objectives of increasing oil production, reserves values and respective field recovery factors.
The diversity of operating companies, of mature fields, will influence the variety of techniques and technologies to be used, to extend the economicity and produtivity of fields, prolonging the financial return of their assets.
Green Oil Energy Solutions, believe that many of these mature onshore fields, from PETROBRAS divestment program, require a characterization studies. This statement can be corroborated observing public charts.
The left chart bellow shows a time line of oil fields discoveries in Reconcavo Basin. The biggest and main fields were discovered before 1982. The right chart shows a time line of total drilled well untill 2015. As we can see, most of the drilled campaign, ocurrs untill 1991.

A third chart, shows hystoric total evolution of oil production from each onshore basin by year. The fourth chart, compare the production oil offshore vs onshore, until 2017.
The maximum production of Reconcavo Basin occurs during 1970, starts decreasing since then, year by year, its production. On the other hand, PETROBRAS starts having exploratory success in others onshore basin.
But, in parallell, the contriubtion of offshore fields production increase strongly while onshore, decrease.
We present all these four charts to demonstrated, in a logic sense construction that, as time go by, fields of Reconcavo Basin were loosing importance inside PETROBRAS portfolio.
After consolidating all this charts information, we must take in account that, only after 1997, PETROBRAS implemented a huge structural changes and creates the "multidisplinary reservoir characterization groups".
Certainly, pulling and workover well intervations are the prioritary works projects to be done by the majority of new onshore operators.
The question to be asked for all onshore new players operators is: Why to wait the future, to perform a better comphreention of internal reservoir properties distribution, to support secundary and tertiary recovery methods applayed to maure fields?
Thinking ahead, is that Green Oil Energy Solution (GOE) is presenting, in the next subsection, the Agua Grande Formation reservoir strutural maps, of some Reconcavo Basin Fields, to demonstrats that GOE has the intelectual and expertise capacity to help them to obtain a better understanding of the geologic static model of their main fields now, not in the future.
